Location- North Puerto Morelos area, Riviera Maya

This property got some massive hype, all over social media… People were asking about this place even before it opened, and when given the opportunity we jumped at it!

Overview- This is promoted as a Pool hotel, barely even recognizing it has a decent beach, in our humble opinion (often negative reviews). The team members seemed to be worried about security (had a golf cart follow me during my runs outside the property), was told it was because of crocodiles, but seemed a little fishy. Either way I never felt unsafe at all. The resort is MASSIVE, in one long corridor connecting two separate lobbies.

Beach- Nothing wrong here, it is kept more natural than most with some grass and trees which is a nice little change, but probably not well received for all guests. The water had a brown tinge in close, mostly due to the wind blowing in and prone to this area. The sand was white and decently soft, with 1km of beach front, not sure why more people are not hanging out on the beach! We are also used to Alberta Lake beaches, and just love the ocean, so for us, it doesn’t have to be perfect!

Pool- Split into 3 sections, almost 1 km long. From the swim up party pool with a DJ and activities, the salt water zero entry AVA BAY  (more family) which is more central. Then  the “vacation club” pool and then finally the adult section, with another swim up but much more laid back. It was already showing wear with the salt water pool having the base come up and bubble. It is touted as a new technology which may be the problem.

Gym and Spa- We are not spa people, but it was stunning… It almost made me want to go!! The gym, man the Gym was the best I have ever seen in an All inclusive, if not hotel. Large, well equipped and lots of classes. They nailed the gym and fitness for sure!

Food- The food was great, lots of dining options, we had our reservations done for us, so not sure about the process. Open refreshments are nice, with snack stops, which you may need for the amount of walking!

Rooms- Our top vote in this property. Very modern, comfortable and amazing views.

Closing- We did love some points to this property but wouldn’t come back… The hotel made me feel like I was staying in West Edmonton Mall… Walking and shopping and looking to get extra money from each guest. Arcades, bowling, art galleries (who buys a $200,000 piece of art on vacation anyway), tumbler stores… It goes on. It might be a fit for you, but not us! Lastly, this hotel brand is big on timeshares and pushing hard so beware!!
